Kristophers 1st Basketball game

Kristopher had his first basketball game with the 8th grade team. He was very excited!! He hasn't played on a team since 6th grade so he was eager to get playing again. He wasn't a starter as he had hopped (he always has been in the past) he is one of the shorter guys ( I think he is actually the shortest) on the team so to see him against these big tall guys is pretty amusing. He played a total of about 7 minutes, which is one quater. I wouldn't say it was his best performance, but he did ok. He said he is really going to more effort in at practice. Even though I know he puts in 100% the way it is, he loves the game. The practices are hard, lots of running, but he wouldn't trade it for anything. He loves being out there, with the ball in his hand running down the court. I hope he will be able to play more often in future games, so does he!! His dad and his girlfriend Jenny and his Grandma all made the drive down to see him. He was was happy about that. They don't get to see allot of his games since they live 2 hours away, so I know when the do make the drive he is always happy to see them. I have a few pictures here to show, my camera has that stupid delay so some of them are hard to see which one he is. He is on the white team and his number is three!! I will try and describe where he is in each picture so those of you that don't know him well that read this will be able to pick him out. Oh and Dillon was with me last night, he LOVES going to watch his fufu play ball whatever kind it is baseball or basketball (soon to be football, if kristopher and our friend Tom have their way!! :-)), but anyway when kristopher was in the last quater the whole time that he was in Dillon yelled "go fufu, go fufu, go fufu" it was so cute. It would be dead quiet while someone was shooting a free throw and there he is yelling as loud as he could for fufu, I had to tell him to quiet down a few times LOL!! We asked Kristopher if he could hear him but he said he couldn't. When we got home we watched the video and you can hear him on that and we were all cracking up!! It was to cute!! Dillon played with a few little boys next to us the whole time, unless fufu was in then he was watching him and didn't take his eyes off of him while yelling go fufu!! LOL

Kristopher is the shorter one under the basket this was after they all ran out between the cheerleaders to the band playing loudly and they ran around the court!! He loved that said he felt like a professional!!! :-)

Here his is the 3rd from the end facing this way. The starters run between them as they are announced high fiving!

Here he is #3 right here at mid court

Basketball and a new hair do...

Dillon (my 4 year old nephew) had his first basketball this past weekend. He was so excited. Although he didn't make any baskets he still had a blast running up and down the court. It was the cutest little thing. It brought back lots of memories to when Kristopher was 4 and playing at the same Civic Center. Dillon is #6 in the red shirts. They don't keep official score for this young age but they did win both games! :-)
sister couldn't let big brother take all the attention she had to have her picture taken too!! :-)

I went and got my hair cut today. My good friend Melissa does my hair and we decided that all that dead stuff HAD to be cut off no matter how short it would be. I had such horrible dead unhealthy hair!!! So here it is!

Trip to Savannah 2007

Some friends and I went on a wonderful trip to Savannah, GA. We had so much fun, I wanted to show off some pictures of our trip. We met another friend that lives near Savannah.

While we were there Cotton and Kristopher were on their annual "boys club" that they do every year. They go with all of Cottons brothers and their boys and then SEVERAL other guys and their sons in town to Charlie's lake ( Cottons brother Charlie has a lake with a few other guys with additional property all around it) they go four wheeling and have a BLAST!! They shoot skeet and do whatever it is guys do when they get to together. I never see many pictures from their weekends, I guess that they don't want us to know what they are doing, so they don't take pics!! LOL But they had a great time and came back in one piece so thats always good news when you leave a bunch of men/boys together!! LOL

Baseball pics and others...

I just wanted to post a couple of baseball pictures of Kristopher. He ended a bad season this week. He himself did well, but the team really suffered this year. Which is really frustrating to the kids. He had a good time and a good work out. I also included his new school picture from this year!! My big 8th grader at 13 years old! :-)

Basketball tryouts are the end of the month and thats where his real passion lies. So he is excited for try outs to come up. He has been practicing every night.

Some friends of ours came to town from Chicago this weekend. We had a great time. They are big Cubs fans and we are big Cards fans. Cotton's boss has season tickets to the Cards games, so we got his tickets for the cubs/cards game Sunday. Boy did I want to win!!!! LOL Sadly they gave up the game to the Cubs AGAIN!! Danielle and Geoff were very nice and didn't rub it in to bad!! LOL The other pictures are of our cook out the night before with some other good friend Dean and Melissa! We had a great time sitting around the fire and making smores!!

The next pictures are of my niece Kaitlyn and Cotton. He had just gotten home and he just loves it when she is here to welcome him, she comes to the door running and giggling with her hands raised for him to pick her up!! She thought his reading glasses were SO funny today, she kept taking them off and putting them on his face and cracking up!! It was so cute!! They just adore each other!!! We never had kids of our own so its so sweet to see him with my niece. Of course he has been with Kristopher since he was 3 but with a little girl its just so sweet!!! Thats his baby girl, he sure loves her!

First Day of School

Well today was Kristopher's first day of school. How did this happen?? He was just a little boy holding my hand walking down the hall way to his first day of Kindergarden looking up at me and saying "mommy are you crying"? I respond "no, hunny I'm fine." (totally lying) He looks at me after a sniffle and says "yes you are, its ok mommy I'm only going to be gone for a little bit and then I will be home again". I smile and bite my toung so I don't REALLY loose it in front of all these other parents and we continue walking to Mrs. Lookers Kindergarden calss all the way at the end of the hall. We walk in and his eye light up with all the toys and books and all the activity centers. Mrs. Looker greats him with a happy "HELLO I'm Mrs Looker whats your name??" "I'm Kristopher", "Hello Kristopher you can put your stuff right over here and mom can help you find out desk". So we put his bag away and find his desk. He is so excited to have his very own desk with his name on it. He immedietly begins playing. I try and hang around as long as I possibly can. I become aware that I am the only other parent hanging around, so I assume thats my hint that its time to go. I squat down and tell him bye and hug him tightly while tears stream down my face. I assure him that I will be there soon to pick him up, "I know mommy, don't cry I will be home soon." I stand up walk out the door and since the door is shut there are several parents trying to stand at the door and look through the small window on the door. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I finally after 10 minutes walk down the hall to my car. Call my best friend and cry and cry and cry.

Here I sit 8 years later tears in my eyes after getting home from dropping him off for 8th grade. Of course this time I just had to pull up and he got out, no hug, no kiss, just got his bag and off he went. What happend to that little boy I walked down the hall to Kindergarden? He is still just as sweet, just so grown up now. His first day of school shirt?? When he was in Kindergarden it was a nice green and blue "church" type shirt with khaki shorts. Today look at what his shirt says!! If you can't read it I will post under the picture what it says.

Those of you with little ones enjoy then while you can, because before you know it they will be the big players in the school the top dogs the 8th graders. Next year...................... I can't even think about that with out more tears. The next time they are the top dogs in school they will be SENIORS!!! I can't even imagine that day. We were talking last night and I asked him if he was ready for 8th grade and he said yes and contiued to harrase me like he LOVES to do about how next year he will be in HIGHSCHOOL and then he will GRADUATE and THEN COLLEGE, laughing the whole time as I am hitting him telling him to be quiet! He thinks it so funny!! He will think its funny when I move next door to whatever school he thinks he needs to go too. I told him to pick somewhere nice I am tired of the cold!! LOL

So here I sit teary and anxiously awaiting the time to go and pick him up and here all about his day (or half day as it is today). We always go out to eat after I pick him up the first day of school, so I hope he is still up for that. He needs to at least give me that tradition right?? :)

So here are a few pictures of his first day of school. I take them every year. I will post one of his first day of Kindergarden as well. What a difference!! :-) He had to do a "cool" pose but then gave me 2 good ones too!! :-)
The shirt says "I'm not allowed to date unless your HOT"

Clubhouse

I haven't blogged in awhile!! So I thought I would hop on and put a quick update on here.

Kristopher and Cotton have been working hard for the past few months, along with a bunch of kids in the neighborhood and friends that come over on a club house. Kristopher and Craig (kristophers good friend) have wanted to build a club house in the backyard for a few years now. So finally this year they were able to do it. Of course I think Cotton has done more work than any kid has but he loves it. He says that once they are board with it he will use it to house stuff that won't fit in his big garage that he built himself last year. :-) I have posted a few pictures of it. Its attached to the side all of Cottons shed. They did a great job on it. And have been out there working on it since about 10:30 this morning. Its been an accumulation of time, sweat, money, and hard work since the begining of June. Since I took the picture, electricity has been put in and also a tv and fan. Gamecube will be heading out there soon. :-) Talk about spoiled!! LOL

Easter and Spring Dance

Here are a few Easter pictures of the kids. It was hard to get all three of them to look and smile at the same time so they aren't the best. Kristopher and Dillon wanted to keep watching sister trying to make her smile!! Her dress is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice.

The next set is of Kristopher and his friends after the Spring dance at school. They had a great time and came home telling me all about how they danced all night and different things they did. They had a blast. The first picture I took they were all just standing like they didn't like each other (you know how boys are) so the one where they are all hugging I told them to act like they liked each other!! :-) To funny!

Birthday Party!

Kristopher's party went great Friday night. He had 18 people here. I think there were 6 girls. The rest boys. All but one boy stayed the night. They had fun playing outside, they played football, and man hunt. They also played in the back yard on the trampoline. They played in our yard and at the park a block away. I was terrified someone was going to get hurt watching them rough housing around, but it all went great. They stayed up late talking and goofing off and watching movies. But they were up bright and early. I heard them about 7:15 and got up and made Bacon and Eggs, pancakes and toast. They eate 24 eggs and I don't even know how many pancakes!! Hungry boys!! Here are a few pics of the evening!
